Most people seem to love autumn, no? Ever since I joined book-instagram people have been raving about autumn since like July, a little nuts maybe, I don't know, you do you boo and all that. But it almost feels like disliking autumn is controversial online and in some circles because autumn is like a thing you're supposed to like or something. I mean I get it autumn is extremely aesthetic, just look at the red colours in these photos, so very nice to look at. I have mixed opinions about autumn, like for once I must say I have never kind of gotten the whole idea that autumn is a fresh start and you can start anew. I mean I don't oppose it, but it's not something I've ever prescribed to. Also, I am realising I sound like the world's biggest asshole, pretentious enough this morning or what?
I tend to get seasonal depression a little bit which is why I have always been a little bit weary of these upcoming months. I do like September, and its constant inability to decide what it wants to be, late summer or early autumn and the days can get really hot temperatures but morning and evening are still chilly. It gives me all the cozy feels. October is also okay but then after that I dislike everything until March basically, the darkness, the cold, the constant battle between looking good or being warm and just feeling creativity slip through my fingers and die. Hehhe, a bit dramatic maybe but that's often what happens to me and I go months feeling like I could hibernate until spring, aahh to be a bear living in the woods eating berries and sleeping until spring, doesn't sound so bad eh?
I like picking mushrooms though, it's one of my favourite things about autumn, long walks in the forrest and finding its most beloved treasure. All we need is a bit more rain and we should be set for the season. I like lighting candles and wearing big coats and scarves for a period of time and reading novels fitting for the season, like dark academia and mystery novels. I hope autumn and winter will be kind to me this year so I can enjoy it a bit more this time around and not be as stressed as I normally am due to uni which I have graduated now so.
