Florence: A guide for first timmers

6 days done and dusted in Florence. I feel like I have eaten my own weight in pasta and can never go back to eating ice cream that isn't Italian gelato. The trip has been great all in all, but Florence isn't the biggest so 4 days would have been enough time to discover it. We got to see most things we wanted to see and even had time for a day trip to the beach, Forte Dei Marmi. It was very nice. Florence is gorgeous and so old, churches must really be architects wettest dream because damn those in Florence are impressive. And let us not forget the history or the art and of course the wine. In a place like Florence there is something to do for everyone!

Here are some points about Florence:

-Don't go in July or August. It gets hot, too hot. I'm not one to complain about heat, but being in  a city in the middle of the country with no access to the sea is tiring. Bring sun screen, lots of it and don't forget to hydrate lads. Like every 10 minutes at least.

-Go to Uffizi and to Academia, two museums of art. Uffizi is almost too big, but there are some art in both places that even the most unknowledgeable person will recognize. Make sure to book tickets in advance to avoid all the massive lines though!

-Eat one gelato a day, that's essential.

-Take the train somewhere random for a day trip, Pisa is very close. Or to the sea.

-For all truffle lovers, it's cheap in Italy. Make sure to take some home in your suitcase.

-Don't forget to look up, the buildings are colourful and so beautiful!

Here are some photos I took during the week.
